A few things to get off my chest:

Work is boring. I got lots to do, but there has been much wheel-spinning the last few days. I feel like I have accomplished nothing at work this week, even though there is so much that needs to get done. Apathy is the theme emotion for today folks! On a different note, I realized this morning that I am a horrible son and forgot my mom's birthday. Sent her an e-card, and will definitely call her tonight, but something this belated (it's almost been a week) may deserve a visit. I still have to decide just how bad i feel, but there may be an emergency trip to MA on Sunday to attend a mass birthday party for the Jan & Feb people in my family. This would put a damper on my plans for sunday, which i was really looking forward to. I guess we'll have to see what my conscience says tonight. I already know that she probably won't care if I come up or not, but as bad as it sounds, I would really only be going up to make myself feel better. That reason alone is cause to keep my plans as they are. Ah fuck, I dunno. My mom does so much and what do I do in return? forget her friggin' birthday. Good job jackass.grrrrrrr

I'm sure you've been so preoccupied with other things that your brain hasn't had time to remember birthdays, even your mom's. My suggestion is this - break your plans for this weekend unless they involve some work-related project/meeting that has been set up for months. How often do you really get to see your mother? You may think she won't care if you go up there or not, but I have a feeling she'll be completely elated if you do show up and make a point to make a special occasion out of it. Call her, yes. Visit her, absolutely! Whatever your plans are for this weekend, I'm sure they can be rescheduled. Moms are important, you know.

I agree with Michelle. You should go see your mom this weekend. And, if you already told her you weren't going to see her, you could surprize her by showing up.Then, you should find a 2004 calendar and write in big letters that it's your mother's birthday, so you don't forget again next year!
